Terms of Use & Medical Disclaimer

Content on this website is educational. It does not replace an individual medical consultation with your own doctor.

1. Acceptance

By using this website you accept these terms. The site is operated by The Maltese Association Of Urology, a voluntary organisation registered in Malta under VO/1309, from its registered office at 101 Triq San Girgor, Iż-Żejtun, Malta.

2. Medical disclaimer

All clinical and health content published here is provided for education and general information. It is not medical advice, and it does not replace an individual consultation, examination, diagnosis or treatment by a qualified healthcare professional who knows your circumstances.

No doctor-patient relationship is created by reading this site, downloading a leaflet, attending a public awareness stand, or corresponding with the association.

Never delay seeking or disregard professional medical advice because of something you read here. If you have urgent symptoms — including visible blood in the urine, inability to pass urine, fever with loin pain, or severe pain — seek medical attention immediately or contact emergency services.

Clinical guidance published by the association is written for healthcare professionals practising in Malta and must be applied with professional judgement to the individual patient.

3. Accuracy and currency

Medical knowledge changes. We review published material periodically, but we do not warrant that every page is current, complete or free from error. Where a document carries a review date, that date governs.

4. External links

Links to hospitals, universities, ministries and other associations are provided for convenience. We do not control and are not responsible for external content.

5. Intellectual property

Text, guidance documents, patient leaflets, the association name and the association emblem are the property of the association unless stated otherwise. Patient leaflets and open-access summaries may be printed and distributed free of charge for non-commercial educational use provided they are not altered and the association is credited. Commercial reproduction requires written permission.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use this site to transmit unlawful, misleading or harmful material, to impersonate a member or officer of the association, to submit identifiable patient information, or to attempt unauthorised access to any part of the site.

7. Sponsorship and independence

Educational meetings may be supported by unrestricted grants, which are declared in the relevant programme. Sponsors have no editorial control over guidance, patient material or the content of this website. Patient-facing material carries no commercial sponsorship.

8. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Maltese law, the association, its officers and its volunteers accept no liability for loss or damage arising from reliance on the content of this website.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the Maltese courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
